Zofia Karpinska has been named Saban’s London-based director of distribution for emerging markets, reporting to Frederic Soulie, senior VP of global distribution, and Leila Ouledcheikh, VP of distribution for EMEA.

The newly created role will see Karpinska focus on content deal TV negotiations, digital distribution and home entertainment sales for the Eastern European market.

Karpinska has worked in progressive roles at London-based 3DD Entertainment where, most recently, she was head of sales and coproduction.

Saban is currently developing preschool series Luna Petunia with Montréal-based Cirque du Soleil Média, the production arm of the celebrated theatre group.

It is also producing a modern adaptation of The Popples, a 1980s Franco-Japanese animated series, alongside French production companies Zagtoon and Method Animation. It has already been picked up by French broadcast group Lagardère and Netflix.
