Raiola gets own show on VH1

US cablenet VH1 has commissioned a spin-off from its hit unscripted series Mob Wives.

Big Ang (wt) will premiere on VH1 this summer, focusing on the life of Angela Raiola, one of the most outrageous and loveable characters from the Mob Wives series.

The 10×30′ series will be produced by Electus, The Weinstein Company, Left/Right and JustJenn Productions – the same companies that work on Mob Wives. Electus will distribute the series internationally.

Mob Wives creator Jennifer Graziano, of JustJenn Productions, said: “I’ve known Big Ang since I was a kid and can always remember thinking, ‘this woman is a star.’ It gives me great pleasure to be in the position to show the world what I have always seen in her.”

Earlier this week, Discovery Networks brought the second season of Mob Wives to Europe for its TLC, DMax and Real Time channels.
