WildBrain gets distribution rights to preschool series Nick the Mechanic

Nick the Mechanic is produced by Polydont Films

Kids’ content company WildBrain has acquired the global distribution rights to CG animated preschool series Nick the Mechanic (26×6.5’).

Produced by Polydont Films, Nick the Mechanic centres on a boy who, in his workshop hidden in his parents’ garage, gives broken toys a second life. With the help of his team, he finds creative ways to repair every toy that comes through his workshop, discovering how things work along the way.

The series’ ethos is to inspire kids to think creatively and see the value of caring for, reusing and repurposing the things they love.

WildBrain will showcase Nick the Mechanic to buyers at MipJunior and Mipcom next month, alongside a slate of animated and live-action series.

In live-action, WildBrain is taking season two of Secrets at Red Rocks (8×24’). Produced by Libertine Pictures, the family fantasy adventure series is adapted from New Zealand author Rachael King’s novel set on a magical coastline where the human world brushes against the selkie myth.

Also heading to Mip are two WildBrain-produced series from its Strawberry Shortcake franchise. Strawberry Shortcake’s Bake Shop (26×3’) is a shortform series set inside the titular character’s bakery, while The Berry Best Baking Show (12×5’) is a CG and live-action hybrid series that teaches kids how to bake with follow-along-at-home recipes.

WildBrain’s Mip slate also includes the Peanuts Collection, featuring The Snoopy Show (39×22’), Snoopy in Space (24×8’) and Camp Snoopy (13×22’). All three series from the classic franchise are produced by Peanuts and WildBrain.
