Veteran exec lands on Planeta Junior

European producer and distributor Planeta Junior has hired an experienced former France Télévisions and Xilam exec as its country manager for France and international TV sales director.

Erick Rouillé

Erick Rouillé is taking the newly created position at the Grupo Planeta- and De Agostini-owned company, which specialises in content for preschool and family audiences.

It caps a busy 2016 of job hopping for Rouillé who left Xilam Entertainment in February where he was executive VP of sales, TV and licensing for five years.

He had been poached by France TV Distribution as its sales director but after just six months in that role was due to join PGS Entertainment as its senior VP of global sales and licensing. Now, however, he will join Planeta Junior instead.

The move means Rouillé has come full circle, having helped to launch Planeta Junior in France as commercial director in 2008.

In his new role, he will report to Diego Ibáñez Belaustegui, international commercial director at the company.

Rouillé will be responsible for developing the business and Planeta Junior’s strategy in the French market with new series like Magiki and Pio Rocks! and representing Care Bears, Mia & Me, Wissper and Tip The Mouse, among others.

He will also be in charge of international TV sales for Planeta Junior’s animation series.

Planeta Junior is headquartered in Barcelona with offices in France, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Eastern Europe.
