Ukraine’s MGU links up with GoQuest

Rainflower (aka Tree of Heaven) was adapted from an SBS drama

Ukrainian content company Media Group Ukraine (MGU) has struck a multi-series sales deal with Indian distributor GoQuest Media Ventures.

GoQuest has acquired global distribution rights to four MGU dramas including Ruby Ring and Rainflower (aka Tree of Heaven), which were adapted from dramas originally from South Korean broadcasters KBS and SBS respectively.

Also on the slate is an adaptation of Fremantle drama Secrets and Eclipse, which was first produced by MGU. All four shows premiered on MGU’s domestic free-to-air channel Ukraine.

Jimmy George, VP of sales and acquisitions at GoQuest Media, said Ukrainian drama was “growing from strength to strength.” Iryna Chernyak, director of TV content sales at MGU, added that the deal to expand distribution of it shows was now a “key development strategy” for the company.
