Ukraine’s Kvartal, 1+1 launch Euro net

The new satellite channel from Kiev-based studio Kvartal 95 and Ukrainian broadcaster 1+1 Media has begun broadcasting around Europe.

Kvartal TV launched on August 8 as an entertainment channel focusing on comedy aimed at viewers aged 14 to 49.

Kvartal 95 and 1+1 Media agreed a multi-year partnership to launch the commercial-free network earlier this year.

The channel offers local programming including animation series from Kvartal 95 and shows such as Vecherniy Kvartal, The Laughter League and Crack Them Up.

Exclusive programming is also planned, as well as series and movies acquired from the international market.

Kvartal TV is available across Europe apart from in Spain, Portugal, western France, Norway, northern Sweden and the north west of the UK. The channel will also soon be available via European pay TV network Viasat’s DTH-platform, according to Kvartal TV.
