Twofour54 names Image Nation’s Garin as CEO

Abu Dhabi-based media development agency Twofour54 has appointed former Image Nation Abu Dhabi chief Michael Garin as CEO.

The move comes after Twofour54 set up a board last July and the firm’s CEO, Maryam Eid AlMheiri, was given the role of vice chair.

Garin has more than 50 years’ experience in media and joins Twofour54 from media and entertainment company Image Nation Abu Dhabi, where he had served as CEO since 2011.

During his time at the helm of Image Nation, he oversaw its strategy and managed and forged key international partnerships.

Twofour54 and Image Nation already work closely on numerous projects, including Inheritance, the world’s first Arabic soap opera.

Prior to that, Garin spent four years as a member of the executive committee of the Abu Dhabi Media Company and co-founded US indie prodco Lorimar-Telepictures. He previously spent a decade working for Time Inc, as well as serving as CEO of Central European Media Enterprises and global head of media and telecommunications investment banking for ING.

AlMheiri said: “Michael joins twofour54 at a pivotal time for the media and entertainment industry in Abu Dhabi, with a new chapter about to start for the media zone at the purpose-built new home on Yas Island. We are delighted that he will bring his extensive experience and expertise to twofour54.”

As vice chair, AlMheiri will continue to offer guidance and support as Twofour54 develops partnerships with international prodcos, the company said.
