Twofour in Abu Dhabi partnership

Abu Dhabi Media has signed a long-term production partnership with UK-based producer and distributor Twofour, covering factual and feature programming.

Twofour Arabia, the company’s United Arab Emirates arm which launched in 2010, will work on a raft of new programming for the Abu Dhabi TV Network over the next 12 months.

The channel is relaunching its schedule at the start of December and one of the early Twofour commissions is a series about some of the country’s most inspirational people and landscapes.

Twofour Arabia produced The Footsteps of Thesiger for Abu Dhabi Media’s Al Emarat channel last year. The documentary charted a historic journey across the Arabian Empty Quarter – said to be one of the most dangerous walks on earth.

Twofour Arabia’s offices are at Middle Eastern media development agency Twofour54 in Abu Dhabi and post-production facilities and resources there will be used to complete the new series.

The deal follows an executive reshuffle at the top of Twofour Arabia in May. Paul Harper was promoted to general manager, replacing Jonney Steven, who stepped up to head Twofour’s Middle East and North Africa business.
