TVE joins Jelly Jamm mix

MIP NEWS: Spanish network TVE has come onboard a new kids’ project from Vodka Capital, a local production company headed by the ex-CEO of Zinkia and the creator of Pocoyo.

Jelly Jamm (left) is an animated series targeting four- to six-year-olds. Vodka Capital and TVE will coproduce the 52×11′ 3D series, which also has Spanish indie Secuoyas onboard.

The entertainment team at Vodka Capital includes Victor M López, former head of Zinkia (Pocoyo, Shuriken School), and David Cantolla, creator and director of award-winning animated series Pocoyo.

The series has a production budget of €7.4m (US$9.8m) and will be produced in Spain, with the exception of script development, which will be in the hands of a team of UK and US scriptwriters and educational advisers.

Jelly Jamm follows the adventures of five friends who live on a magical planet called Jammbo, the origin of all music in the universe.

López, CEO of Vodka Capital, said: “Having the opportunity to coproduce a series as ambitious as Jelly Jamm with TVE is fantastic, and together we aim to make it an international reference kids’ entertainment brand.”
