Turkey’s TV8 lines up See Your Voice

CJ ENM’s I Can See Your Voice

Turkey’s Acun Media has bought the rights to Korean producer CJ ENM’s format I Can See Your Voice from international distributor Eccho Rights.

The format will air on Acun’s channel TV8 and follows a string of international adaptations in the US, UK and Germany. The original has run for eight seasons in its native South Korea.

On the show, the audience and a panel of celebrity guests have to guess whether people are good or bad singers before even hearing them sing.

Last year CJ ENM accused Turkish distributor Global Agency of copying the format for its show Is That Really Your Voice?. Global Agency claimed it had pitched the format to CJ ENM in 2014 and that it was its own original concept.

After French channel TF1 adapted Global Agency’s format Russian broadcaster TNT also reversioned the show this February. CJ ENM and Global Agency have since been selling their own versions around the world.

Diane Min, head of format sales at CJ ENM, added “CJ ENM’s partnership with Eccho Rights has been solid and I can say that it has been exceptionally special to bring our entertainment format I Can See Your Voice to Turkey. We are excited to present our original entertainment IP in the bustling Turkish TV market and to offer the Turkish audience unique experiences and enjoyment. I Can See Your Voice will be a music entertainment show they have never seen before.”
