In My Skin is an autobiographical coming-of-age comedy-drama from Welsh writer Kayleigh Llewellyn. Having initially debuted as a pilot for BBC Wales, the show – about a lesbian teenager and her relationship with a bipolar mother and abusive father – was ordered for a full series on BBC Three.

Produced by Tim Hincks and Peter Fincham’s Expectation Entertainment, the first season went on to win Bafta and Royal Television Society Awards, before being recommissioned, with the second and final instalment released last month.

Llewellyn, whose credits also include stints on series including Casualty, Stella and Killing Eve, spoke to Michael Pickard about the show and other projects she has in development.

C21FM is live 24/7, with a block of interviews starting at 10am BST every day HERE.
