Televideo plugs into Power

MIPCOM: European indie movie and miniseries producer and distributor Power has sealed a landmark multi-territory deal with Televideo Services covering 10 Latin American countries.

The deal of over 200 hours of primetime content includes 40 miniseries and movies from the Power and RHI Entertainment catalogues. Among the titles are Flood (Robert Carlyle, Jessalyn Gilsig), The Tenth Kingdom, Dinotopia, Bram Stoker’s Dracula and The Ten Commandments (Dougray Scott).

Also included is an additional package of 15 films from the Power Thrillers stable, with titles such as Lies and Deception, False Pretences, Fatal Trust and Live Once Die Twice.

The agreement covers 10 countries including Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Peru. It is also Power’s first deal with Televideo.

In a separate announcement, Power, Prodigy Pictures and French prodco Cipango have cast US movie stars Val Kilmer and Stephen Dorff in the internationally coproduced action miniseries XIII: The Conspiracy, which starts production in November 2007. The production is Power’s first venture with Prodigy Pictures and Cipango. Other coproduction partners include Canal+ and M6.

The miniseries is based on a 1984 Franco-Belgian cult comic book series, now also a video game. It is written by David Wolkove and Philippe Lyon, directed by Duane Clark (Cape Wrath, CSI) and exec-produced by Power’s CEO Justin Bodle and Canadian Jay Firestone (The Believer, The Relic Hunter) from Prodigy Pictures. Producers are Thomas Anargyros and Edouard de Vesinne (2006 International Emmy-winning Nuit Noire) from Cipango.
