TBS wakes to Neighbors From Hell

US cable network TBS has greenlit its first original animation series, a coproduction from 20th Century Fox and DreamWorks Animation.

Neighbors From Hell (10×30′) will air in a pair with the network’s off-net run of Family Guy. The series revolves around the Hellmans, a family living in American suburbia but originating from hell.

The producer, DreamWorks’ Jerry Katzenberg, told Variety magazine that the show was a “fish-out-of-water twist on the suburban comedy genre.”

Ex-South Park writer and producer Pam Brady wrote the pilot and will exec produce, along with Mireille Soria (Madagascar) and Katzenberg.

The show was original developed for Fox, which decided to pass on a pick-up. TBS had been looking for a new animated series and pounced on the opportunity. It is 20th Century Fox’s first animated production for cable.
