Studio71 exec joins new German studio

The new German studio formed from the merger of Tele München Group (TMG), Universum Film, i&u TV and Wiedemann & Berg Film has added a Studio71 co-founder as chief digital officer.

Christian Meinberger

Christian Meinberger has joined the management team at the as-yet-unnamed company being established by New York-based investment firm KKR following its spree of acquisitions that began in February with TMG.

Meinberger is a co-founder of multichannel network Studio71, where he was also chief content officer for Europe. He previously worked at ProSiebenSat.1, ZDF, Viacom and RTL2, in which TMG owns a 31.5% stake.

In his new role, he will be responsible for developing and producing original digital content for the new business that will emerge from the combination of TMG, Universum, i&u TV and Wiedemann & Berg Film. He will report to CEO Fred Kogel.

“My goal is to establish the new company as a reliable content partner for all digital platforms, as well to continue to consistently develop locally and internationally relevant productions and successful content,” Meinberger said.
