Streaming veteran David Urgell launches consultancy after leaving JV SkyShowtime

Madrid-based executive David Urgell is launching his own consulting firm, NeosMedia Consulting, after leaving European streaming service SkyShowtime earlier this year.

The new company seeks to provide “strategic guidance and creative solutions for the changing media industry,” according to Urgell, and marks “the next phase of my career.”

Urgell arrived at the Comcast and Paramount joint-venture platform as VP of distribution and partnerships in September last year, but he left his position at the streamer at the beginning of 2023.

Previously, he spent eight years at Paramount, where he was responsible for the international strategy and business development of its streaming division. He also worked for more than seven years in business development for Europe and Africa for Fox International Channels.

As detailed on its website, NeosMedia Consulting offers its services to international media, streaming platforms and advertising, entertainment and technology firms seeking to expand their reach, optimise operations, improve distribution and revenue, and navigate the complexities of the market.

Its services cover the areas of strategy, market intelligence, distribution and alliances, growth and account management, content and workshops.
