OUTtv partners with Taiwan’s Chunghwa Telecom to launch first Asian channels

OUTtv’s For the Love of DILFs
Canada-based LGBTQ+ platform OUTtv has partnered with Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan to launch its first channels in Asia.
From today, the streamer is available as a linear offering available on Chunghwa IPTV service Multimedia on Demand and channel 375 in Taiwan.
The roll-out is part of OUTtv’s strategic collaboration with Singapore-based media company Ulight Entertainment Technology (UET), which is supporting the launch of OUTtv across Asia. That three-year deal was announced today, with UET also helping Swiss streamer Wedotv Movies to gain a foothold in the region.
The collaboration between OUTtv and Taipei City-headquartered Chunghwa Telecom means Taiwanese audiences will now have access to the streamer’s programming, such as For the Love of DILFs, Sew Fierce and Call Me Mother.
OUTtv’s expansion into Asia continues a period of growth for the platform following launches in New Zealand through a deal with Prime Video and the Nordics with Allente.
Brad Danks, CEO of OUTtv, said: “It’s been our goal for a long time to launch in Asia. It’s evident that there has been huge demand for a service that creates and provides authentic and diverse storytelling, both for and by the LGBTQ+ community.
“We’re proud to be bringing our channel to the region for the first time, launching in Taiwan with our partners Chunghwa and Ulight, and look forward to continuing to expand our reach, bringing our programming to LGBTQ+ audiences, their friends, families and allies across Asia.”
Lei Chi Chen, CEO and founder of Ulight Entertainment Technology, said: “The launch of OUTtv on Chunghwa Telecom is a significant first step in bringing more diverse and inclusive content to audiences in Asia.
“Through our partnership, Ulight has been instrumental in facilitating this expansion, ensuring that OUTtv’s unique programming reaches new viewers in Taiwan. We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to support global content providers in navigating the Asian market.”
