Sony Pictures TV partners Professor Brian Cox on global projects for digital platforms

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is collaborating with British science presenter Professor Brian Cox on a portfolio of original content for global digital audiences.

Cox has forged a reputation in science, cosmology and astronomy as a broadcaster, bestselling author, live performer and podcaster.

The partnership, developed through SPT International Production’s Digital Studio, will see SPT and Cox work together to create original formats spanning science, astronomy, culture and conversation designed specifically for digital platforms.

Rather than a single series, the venture represents a long-term creative partnership focused on developing and producing repeatable formats.

Cox said: “It’s more important than ever to find new and engaging ways to deliver science and fact-based content to audiences, wherever they consume it.”

This marks the second project from the SPT Digital Studio initiative following the launch of 100 Questions with Tom Simons in April. Episodes of the series, fronted by the content creator and YouTuber, drop on YouTube which clips are shared across social media.
