Krychowiak: One Step from the Top follows the footballer and his wife Celia Jaunat

CONTENT WARSAW: Pan-European streamer SkyShowtime exclusively revealed its first Polish original documentary, Krychowiak: One Step from the Top, at Content Warsaw this morning.

It was announced during a keynote session featuring Monty Sarhan, the platform’s CEO, and Edyta Pytlewska-Mele, senior regional content director for Central and Eastern Europe.

Produced by Polish prodco Papaya Films, it is directed by Jan Dybus (Wilk, Kuba), with Kacper Sawicki serving as creative producer.

The factual title explores the extraordinary life of one of the country’s most high-profile sporting talents, footballer Grzegorz Krychowiak. Born in Gryfice, north-west Poland, the defensive midfielder has amassed 100 caps playing for the national team and won the UEFA Europa League trophy twice with Spanish club Sevilla.

However, it’s not a football documentary and instead offers a raw, uncensored deep dive into the private life of Krychowiak and his wife Celia Jaunat, a French model and bodybuilder.

Launched in September 2022, SkyShowtime is the joint venture OTT service from Comcast’s Sky and Paramount Global.

Active in more than 20 territories, the SVoD boasts content from the combined catalogues of Universal Pictures, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks Animation, Paramount+, Showtime, Sky Studios and Peacock.
