Shadow Lion, Jigsaw team for Indiana college football documentary

Misfits follows the college football team and Indiana University

US production companies Shadow Lion and Jigsaw are teaming to produce a documentary about the college football team at Indiana University, which went on an unexpected championship run in the 2025/26 season.

Misfits, set to begin filming this autumn, follows a dramatic turnaround that saw the team transform from perennial losers to national champions after posting the first-ever perfect 16-0 season in modern college football history.

Shadow Lion, co-founded by American football legend Tom Brady, and Jigsaw, led by acclaimed documentarian Alex Gibney, secured access to make the documentary in a competitive process involving more than a dozen other production houses.

Executive producers include Shadow Lion’s Gilad Haas, Jeff Fine, Lior Haas and Philip Byron and Jigsaw’s Courtney Sexton, Richard Perello and Wendy Schmidt.

Jigsaw’s docuseries credits include Dirty Money, How to Change Your Mind and Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. Shadow Lion is behind Fox Sports’ All In, Tubi’s The Other Football and Peacock’s Z: Made for This with Zdeno Chára.
