Save-Ums fly into France

Adding fuel to the recent launch of Decode Entertainment’s new l&m division, animated preschool show The Save-Ums! will get increased European exposure following a new deal with a major French broadcaster.

France5 has acquired the first season of the 26×30′ series for broadcast this month. Save-Ums also currently airs on French preschool channel Tiji, which has committed to acquire an additional 13 episodes.

Commissioned by Discovery’s The Learning Channel, Discovery Kids in the US and the CBC in Canada, The Save-Ums follows a group of 3D animated super action heroes as they help prepare preschoolers for their role in the 21st century. In addition to the new French sale, Decode also recently inked a 26×30′ commitment from Super RTL in Germany.

Five in the UK has also bought into the series which is reportedly ranked as the top-rating network preschool series in Brazil and Chile and among the top three in Argentina, Venezuela and Mexico on Discovery Latin America.

Decode is leveraging the growing worldwide recognition of the Save-Ums! brand by ramping up l&m efforts.

Earlier this year, The Sharpe Company was selected as the worldwide licensing agent for the property. It has already been picked up by licensing partners including: Copyright Promotions Group in the UK, France, Spain, Portugal, the Benelux territories and Italy; Licensing Works in Australia, Newman International in New Zealand and Plus Licens in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.

In addition, Universal Video UK, Kaboom! in Canada and Discovery US have acquired home entertainment rights.
