Poland’s Polot Media develops a taste for Ms Sweet from Russian streamer Start

Start fantasy series The Vampires of Midland

Polish production company Polot Media has obtained the format rights to Russian series Ms Sweet from Russian streamer and producer Start and will adapt it locally.

The series is a comedy drama following Vera Sweet, a long-suffering housewife and mother with a gift for making delicious confectionery. After throwing her philandering husband out, Vera looks to make ends meet and starts her own confectionery business, enlisting the help of family members.

Polot has adapted Start shows before, such as this year’s comedy series Kowalsky vs Kowalsky, lifted from Start’s series Ivanovs vs Ivanovs.

Tamara Aagten-Margol, CEO of Polot Media, added: “We are very happy to co-operate with Start. We are very excited about the format and are already discussing future co-operation together.”

In related news, Baltic network TV3 Group, which serves Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, has sealed an exclusive package deal with Start.

TV3 Group has picked up Start’s series The Vampires of Midland, Addicted, A Good Man, Ms Sweet, Fitness, Best Frenemies and other titles, including a number of Start’s feature films. The shows will be featured on TV3’s SVoD service GO3 and its TV Channels TV3, TV3Film, TV3 Life and TV3+.
