Peacock orders three-part docuseries examining legacy of The Wendy Williams Show

The Wendy Williams Show ran for 13 seasons

NBCUniversal’s Peacock has greenlit a three-part documentary unpacking the cultural impact and complex legacy of daytime talkshow The Wendy Williams Show.

The project, titled Clap If You Care: The Wendy Williams Show (working title), is set to explore the rise and “complicated truths” behind the series, which ran for 13 seasons from 2008 to 2022. It is slated to premiere on Peacock in 2027.

Peacock said the documentary, which is executive produced by EverWonder Studio, will answer “long-lingering questions surrounding [Williams’] infamous exit from her own show” through the accounts of more than 20 former employees.

Suzanne Bass, who executive produced all 13 seasons of The Wendy Williams Show, is among the exec producers on the docuseries.

Other exec producers include EverWonder Studio’s Ian Orefice, Jon Adler, Amanda Spain and Missy Walker, in addition to Chris Witherspoon and Vanessa Golembewski.
