New Short Media wraps production on dual-format movie and microdrama

LA-based vertical content studio New Short Media (NSM) has announced new horror-comedy microdrama series It’s My Party & I’ll Die If I Want To.

Eric Roberts

Created by Gev Miron and Charlie Parker, it follows a woman who races to conceal the shocking truth about her best friend’s death on the night of her 21st birthday. The cast includes Eric Roberts (Runaway Train), Merrick Hanna (America’s Got Talent) and Neela Jolene (The Goldbergs).

It will be released in two formats: as a vertical episodic series designed for mobile phones and as a traditional horizontal movie intended for theatrical release.

NSM says the dual-format project is central to the company’s strategy of seeing both vertical and traditional content as distinct viewing experiences built from the same underlying story and IP.

Veteran producers Alon Shtruzman and Scott Einbinder launched NSM in July. It operates alongside their existing banner, 5X Media, and is targeting mobile-first scripted and unscripted projects featuring established actors, influencers and other digital creators. https://www.c21media.net/news/alon-shtruzman-scott-einbinder-set-up-vertical-drama-studio-new-short-media/

NSM has wrapped production on It’s My Party. The company is working on an inaugural slate of around 10 projects spanning action, romance, thriller, comedy and docu-reality.
