Netflix renews Sex Education for season four as part of global fan event

Sex Education’s third season launched earlier this month

Netflix has renewed its teen comedy drama Sex Education for a fourth season while teasing its upcoming slate of originals during a recent global fan event.

It comes after the third season of the show, created by Laurie Nunn and produced by UK-based Eleven Film, launched on the streaming service earlier this month.

The series follows the personal lives of the staff, students and their parents at a secondary school and stars Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey and Jemima Kirke.

The renewal announcement was made during Tudum, the global fan event that was streamed on YouTube over the weekend. It featured guest appearances and exclusive clips from Netflix’s slate of more than 70 new and returning series and 25 movies from around the world.

This included new titles Cowboy Bebop, The Sandman, Inside Job, The Witcher: Blood Origin and Super Crooks, alongside returning shows Emily in Paris, The Crown, Tiger King, Ozark, Stranger Things, Money Heist and Big Mouth.

Netflix is also preparing to premiere true crime docuseries The Raincoat Killer: Chasing a Predator in Korea, which is produced by Blue Ant Studios-owned Beach House Pictures. Debuting on October 22, the series traces the steps of Yoo Young-chul, a notorious serial killer who came to light as a psychopath to the Korean public in 2004.

From 2003 to 2004, in a span of less than a year, Yoo Young-chul killed a total of 20 people in various parts of Seoul, targeting wealthy elderly people and sex workers.
