Netflix prepares to meet The Secret Woman with Nordic thriller from SF Studios

Danish-Norwegian thriller The Secret Woman

SF Studios has started filming The Secret Woman, which is expected to premiere globally on Netflix in 2026.

The forthcoming Danish-Norwegian thriller features Natalie Madueño (The Rain, Those Who Kill seasons 1-4), Claes Bang (Dracula), and Pål Sverre Hagen (The Middleman, War Sailor).

Barbara Topsøe-Rothenborg (Food Club) is directing a script co-written by Anders August and Topsøe-Rothenborg. The producers at SF Studios include Marcella Dichmann, Lars Björn-Hansen, and Anders Rønnow Klarlund.

Based on the novel of the same name written by Anna Ekberg, the film follows Louise Andersen, who lives an idyllic life on the Norwegian island of Hidra with a writer while running a small café.

Suddenly, her idyllic world shatters when a strange man enters the café and claims that she is not who she believes she is. He asserts that she is a woman who disappeared from Denmark three years earlier, leaving her husband searching for her ever since.

In 2026, Netflix is also expected to premiere the Norwegian detective series Harry Hole, based on Jo Nesbø’s novels, the Swedish period drama The Force, set in 1958 and focusing on Sweden’s first female police officers, and Chestnut Man (Kastanjemanden), starring Sofie Gråbøl, which will return for a second season.

Elsewhere, Netflix has secured UK streaming rights to feature documentary The Cancer Conflict, directed by Thomas Meadmore and produced by Go Fish Films. The film, which delves into the personal journeys of two cancer patients navigating the complexities of treatment choices in an era rife with misinformation, is set to premiere on the platform on July 8. The deal was sealed with distributor Java Films.
