Netflix Nordic begins production on an eight-episode medical drama

The untitled medical drama will be produced by new prodco Klynge

Norwegian prodco Klynge is set to start production on Netflix’s first Nordic medical drama, featuring Sara Khorami (Troll 2, Kraken) in the lead role.

The series marks its first collaboration with Netflix on the yet-to-be-titled series set to premiere globally on Netflix in autumn 2026. Casting is expected to be completed soon.

“We are teaming up with Netflix and the finest crop of Nordic storytellers to deliver an intense, eight-episode TV series that will grip the audience as they laugh, cry, and champion the real-life heroes in white capes,” Klynge producer Esben Selvig said in a statement.

Behind the scenes, the screenwriters and creators are Harald Rosenløw-Eeg (La Palma, The Arctic Convoy) and Jan Trygve Røyneland (The King’s Choice, A Storm for Christmas).

The series is directed by the prolific filmmaker Henrik Martin Dahlsbakken (The Arctic Convoy, Another Happy Christmas), marking his series debut.

Despite low staffing, limited time, and demanding patients, a resilient team of doctors and nurses strives to help. The main character, Sofia (Sara Khorami), is a talented surgeon in a chaotic environment; she encounters disorder and resistance, but also warmth, community, and love.
