Netflix is diving further into the dating space with the greenlight of Love at First Sight, a new relationship format from Velvet Hammer Media.

Specific information about the format has not yet been revealed, with Netflix disclosing simply that a group of singles will “discover if a first impression can lead to everlasting love.” Casting for the show has now opened.

This marks Netflix’s latest project with Velvet Hammer Media after dating format Age of Attraction and an upcoming docuseries about American actor and comedian Nick Cannon.

Age of Attraction, which is filmed in British Columbia, Canada, matches up singles of widely differing ages. It was swiftly renewed for a second season after it posted strong viewership for Netflix earlier this year.

Velvet Hammer’s Jen O’Connell and Rebecca Quinn are executive producing the show, which joins a lineup of Netflix dating formats that also includes Temptation Island, Love is Blind and the recently greenlit series Weight to Date.
