Netflix Australia books trip to Crazy Fun Park with Werner Films comedy horror series

Crazy Fun Park makes its debut on Netflix in April

Global streamer Netflix has acquired Werner Film’s tween comedy horror series Crazy Fun Park for the Australian market.

The series was originally commissioned by the ABC in 2023 and co-financed by distributor the Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF).

The 10-part series has previously been sold to the BBC, Hulu in the US, KiKA in Germany and Norway’s NRK.

The gothic-esque series revolves around teenage boy Chester and the death of his best friend, Mapplethorpe, at an abandoned theme park, which he soon discovers is haunted by his friend and a cabal of undead teens.

“The series explores friendship and grief in a clever and unique way, a coming-of-age story that is sure to resonate with Netflix viewers,” said Bernadette O’Mahony, ACTF’s head of content.

The series will drop on Netflix Australia on April 1.
