Nat Geo, History Hit, Little Dot team on Tudors docuseries

Dan Snow and Professor Suzannah Lipscomb in How the Tudors Lost Their Heads

Disney-owned National Geographic is pairing with Dan Snow’s History Hit and Little Dot Studios on a documentary series about the Tudors.

How the Tudors Lost Their Heads is a new six-part documentary series presented by Snow and fellow historian Professor Suzannah Lipscomb, premiering on National Geographic in the UK on September 6 and streaming same day on Disney+. The series will also launch in the US at a later date.

Across six episodes, Snow and Lipscomb re-examine the lives, power struggles and downfall of some of Tudor England’s most controversial, notorious and misunderstood figures.

Travelling across Europe, they investigate each story through letters, paintings, official records, archaeological discoveries, access to historic buildings and archives and newly examined forensic evidence.

Each episode explores a different Tudor figure, from Anne Boleyn and Mary, Queen of Scots, to aristocratic pretender Perkin Warbeck.

The series is produced by History Hit, the Little Dot-owned podcast, SVoD and content platform network founded by Snow.
