MIPTV: South African broadcaster Multichoice has acquired Emmy-nominated Angolan soap Windeck from distributor Côte Ouest Audiovisuel.

The 120×45’ series, from Angola-based prodco Semba, explores the consequences of ambition in the newsroom of a fictional lifestyle magazine.

The show was shot on location in the Angolan capital of Luanda and has already been sold to Portugal’s RTP1.

Meanwhile, pan-African French-language network TV5 Afrique has picked up 3D animated show Pokou Princess Ashanti (1×65′) from Afrikatoon. The special tells the story of an 18th century princess who sacrifices her son to save her people.
