MTV Int’l uncovers True Life Crime UK

True Life Crime UK will air on MTV worldwide

ViacomCBS Networks International-owned MTV International is set to launch a UK version of its reporter-led investigative series True Life Crime.

Four-part series True Life Crime UK will premiere on MTV networks around the world from April 7 and focuses on the deaths of four young people.

Hosted by broadcast journalist Linda Adey, the series investigates the cases of Jayden Parkinson, Kirsty Maxwell, Champion Ganda and James Brindley.

The UK remake comes after the US version of True Life Crime, part of MTV’s Emmy-winning True Life franchise, premiered in early 2020, presented by journalist and MTV News host Dometi Pongo.

True Life Crime UK is commissioned for MTV International by Kerry Taylor and Craig Orr. The executive producers for MTV International are Orr and Iestyn Barker, the executive producer for ViacomCBS International Studios UK is Jeff Anderson and the series producer is Nick Kenton.

Adey said: “I’ve reported on a lot of crime as a journalist and True Life Crime UK is about getting under the headlines and making sure we bring these young people’s stories to the world so that they are not forgotten. By spreading awareness of their names, we hope to honour them and shed light on the cruelty of lives lost too soon.”
