Moonbug launches CoComelon spin-off YouTube channel It’s Cody Time

It’s Cody Time is named for CoComelon character Cody Green

London-based children’s company Moonbug Entertainment has launched a CoComelon spin-off channel on YouTube called It’s Cody Time.

It’s Cody Time features CoComelon character Cody Green and his family in a musical preschool series, starting with two special episodes follows by a new episode each Wednesday.

Similarly to CoComelon, It’s Cody Time covers the themes of childhood fun and celebrating big moments for little kids, and includes nursery rhymes as well as original songs.

The initial story arc will focus on Cody’s mum’s pregnancy, becoming a big brother and the joys of family, and will aim to help children learn through relatable situations and to prepare them for big-sibling responsibilities and expectations.

Cody’s parents feature prominently in the show and play an important part in plot themes. Cody’s father, Kwame, is a chef of Jamaican and Ghanaian descent. His mother, Toni, is African-American and works full-time as a paediatrician.

Patrick Reese, general manager of CoComelon at Moonbug Entertainment, said: “Representation matters and we want to bring more content with diverse lead characters, inclusive storytelling and aspirational role modelling to children around the world.”
