Faith-based children’s streaming platform Minno in the US has appointed former YouTube, Amazon Kids+ and Sony Pictures Television (SPT) exec Craig Hunter as chief content officer.

Craig Hunter

Hunter will spearhead Minno’s global content strategy, including original acquisitions and coproductions, as well as expanding its development pipeline.

His focus will be on deepening the platform’s content slate, forging strategic creative partnerships and acquiring IP that supports families in celebrating and cultivating their faith.

Hunter has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the kids’ sector, having previously served as global head of kids and family at YouTube Originals, senior executive at Amazon Kids+ and director of kids’ networks at SPT.

Prior to that, he held senior roles at Nickelodeon, BBC Studios and Disney, spearheading series development and platform growth strategies.

Erick Goss, CEO and co-founder of Minno, said: “As Minno continues to expand its reach and invest in high-quality, faith-forward and values-driven programming, Craig’s vision and extensive industry background will be instrumental in shaping our next generation of original stories, bringing the child development research, educational rigour and creative excellence behind top-tier kids’ programming directly into Minno’s original series development.

“Faith and values-driven families are one of the largest underserved audiences in kids’ media. Bringing in someone who led kids’ programming at Sony, YouTube and Amazon says we intend to compete on quality with anyone.”
