Merzigo strikes four-year distribution pact with Medyapim to monetise content globally

Medyapim produced Forbidden Fruit for Fox Turkey in 2018

MIPTV: Turkish companies Merzigo and Medyapim have signed a four-year strategic partnership here in Cannes that will bring more Turkish content to markets such as Latin America, Africa and Asia.

Turkish digital content curation firm Merzigo and Medyapim, the Turkish production house behind shows such as Forbidden Fruit, are here at MipTV and held a signing ceremony this afternoon in the Palais des Festivals.

The two companies said the deal will facilitate the global distribution of Turkish content, spanning numerous regions such as Lat Am, Africa and Asia, with an extensive range of over 20 local language options.

Merzigo is part of the Istanbul-based Key Networks Group that owns the AVoD platform Baslat, while Medyapim has produced more than 10,000 hours of television content since it was established in 1993, spanning drama, sitcom, gameshows and entertainment programmes.

Yigit Dogan Celik, chairman at Merzigo, said: “I am thrilled to announce our ground-breaking partnership with Medyapim, which represents a significant step forward in our mission to extend the global reach of Turkish content.
