Mediawan Kids & Family acquires majority stake in UK’s Wildseed Studios

Paris-based studio Mediawan Kids & Family has acquired a majority stake in UK production company Wildseed Studios.

Wildseed Studios produces scripted live-action and animated content for children, families and young adults.

Founded 10 years ago by former BBC Children’s exec Jesse Cleverly and former Aardman Animations exec Miles Bullough, it has produced series including The Last Bus for Netflix, Dodo for Sky Kids and Counterfeit Cat for Disney Channel.

Julien Borde, president of Mediawan Kids & Family, said: “Wildseed is a renowned and well-established UK producer with a strong network of international talent and partners. They have a unique take on innovation and a real know-how on talent incubation.

“Wildseed will pursue the development of its own slate of content but also partner with our studios in Europe to bring new coproductions to the market.”

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
