Lime flies to Planet Omar after Hachette rights deal

NEWS BRIEF: UK prodco Lime Pictures (Free Rein, Hollyoaks) has concluded a TV option deal with publisher Hachette Children’s Group for award-winning author Zanib Mian’s book series Planet Omar.

Working with actor and producer Sajid Varda, the Liverpool-based All3Media subsidiary will adapt the books into a TV series about a Muslim kid who moves to a new house and new school. Lime’s previous children’s shows include Prix Jeunesse winner Rocket’s Island, House of Anubis and Evermoor.
