KO Distribution sells Paper Cuts, nabs distribution rights to new titles ahead of Mipcom

KO Distribution has inked a slew of deals in the run-up to Mipcom, with the Montreal-based outfit picking up distribution rights to several new titles as well as landing sales for shows including shortform comedy Paper Cuts.

France Télévisions and Belgium’s RTBF acquired French-language comedies Paper Cuts (Productions KOTV) and Squall (A Média), while Disney+ has picked up Perfect Storm (KOTV) in English Canada.

Elsewhere, Toopy & Binoo (Echo Media) and About Mental Health (Echo Media) are heading to US network Primo TV, while TV5Monde has taken Playing Both Sides (Jumelage Productions), FEM (UGO Media) and LIAM (KOTV).

In factual, Canal+ Africa acquired 300 Hoops (KOTV), while Ceska TV picked up About Mental Health and About Sex (Echo Media). Precious Flavours (Lustitia) has also sold to SBS Food in Australia, while Kitchen Mania has been acquired by Mediawan for French Europe.

KO Distribution has also secured several format options. Warner Bros Italy has optioned 1st Times (KOTV), with Tokara Media optioning The Mediator for Germany.

Alef One and Alef UK have optioned My 90-Year-Old Roommate (LoCo Motion Pictures) for the UK and France, while Artemis Productions has optioned Playing Both Sides for Belgium and France.

In Canada, Longhope Media is developing local versions of Squall and Ayer’s Cliff.

The distributor has also added two titles to its catalogue: Wowanimo (Gregg Productions) and Don’t Feed the Animals (Urbania).
