Keshet Int’l to shop stalker drama Number One Fan as part of Mipcom slate

Clapperboard Productions’ Number One Fan for 5

Psychological drama Number One Fan and factual series Disaster Decoded are among the highlights of Israeli distributor Keshet International (KI)’s multi-genre slate for Mipcom.

Produced by Clapperboard Productions for Paramount-owned 5 in the UK, Number One Fan (4×60’) stars Jill Halfpenny as a TV presenter whose encounter with an apparently devoted fan, played by Sally Lindsay, develops into a dark campaign of revenge.

Disaster Decoded, meanwhile, is a 10×60’ docuseries produced by Perpetual Entertainment for Radial Entertainment. It uncovers the decisions, failures and hard-won lessons behind catastrophes including the Boxing Day Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina.

The roster of programming to be shopped to buyers in Cannes also includes religious cult thriller The Escape (8×60), coproduced by Reisdor Productions and SE Film Productions for Israeli broadcaster Keshet 12.

Iran’s Most Wanted (1×60’), meanwhile, is a doc from UVDA, Keshet 12’s investigative current affairs programme. It sees filmmaker Itai Anghel gain access to Paiman, a Kurdish-Iranian guerrilla commander leading PJAK, an armed resistance group fighting the Iranian regime.

The formats roster includes Brazilian business reality competition Elevator Pitch; celebrity entertainment show Who Wants to Start?; Keshet 12 quiz game Domination and the same broadcaster’s talent format, Rising Star: Runway to Eurovision.

Scripted titles include Keshet 12’s crime thriller Murder at the Dead Sea, comedy drama Reset and romantic comedy Mythological Ex.

Joining KI’s factual slate are archaeological true crime series Pirates of Antiquities (10×60’), true crime title World’s Most Evil Killers season nine (20×60’) and fly-on-the-wall medical series Casualty 24/7 S7 (6×60’).

Salomé Peillon, acting MD of distribution at KI, said: “We’re heading to Mipcom with a slate of distinctive titles that we believe have real international potential. They’re all very different shows, but they all have what we’re looking for: a great idea, a clear proposition and the ability to cut through.”
