Keshet goes Interstellar in UK rebrand

Keshet Productions, the UK-based production arm of Israel’s Keshet International (KI), has rebranded its non-scripted arm as Interstellar.

The new prodco will be brought under the umbrella of Greenbird, the UK production financier and prodco incubator in which KI bought a majority stake three years ago.

Heading Interstellar will be MD David Williams, who held the same role at Keshet Productions, while the company’s director of development, Jamie Ormerod, has been promoted to creative director. Marisa Guagenti will retain her position as head of production.

The trio will create and produce a new slate of popular factual, children’s, reality and entertainment formats, with two new orders already in production.

They are comedy quizshow Question Team, which has been commissioned by UKTV’s channel Dave, and kids’ fact ent series Show Me the Money for CBBC.

Question Team (8×60’) sees presenter Richard Ayoade invite three comedians to write and host their own round of questions for other comics to answer, while Show Me the Money (7×30’) will see four children and their families try their hand at beekeeping for the first time and will be fronted by YouTuber Maddie Moate.

KI’s CEO Alon Shtruzman said: “Having recently brought all of our UK operations together under one roof, it is the natural next step for us all to see David and Jamie set up their own non-scripted indie as part of Greenbird. Together they are a creative force to be reckoned with. We wish them all the luck in the future.”
