ITV takes YouTube’s Alan Titchmarsh gardening format from Middlechild to linear

My Year in a Cottage Garden With Alan Titchmarsh is based on a YouTube series

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has commissioned a new 12-part series based on Middlechild Production’s YouTube series Gardening With Alan Titchmarsh.

My Year in a Cottage Garden With Alan Titchmarsh follows the veteran gardener and presenter as he passes on a lifetime’s experience and breathes new life into a long-established cottage garden.

The series will feature content from the YouTube Channel alongside original footage, new presenter links and a voice over.

Launched in 2025, Gardening With Alan Titchmarsh has built a substantial online audience with more than 500,000 followers across its social media channels including 185,000 subscribers on YouTube and has had over 100 million views worldwide.

It will launch on ITV in 2027 and Passion Distribution will be representing the 12×30’ series internationally.

Elsewhere, Celebrity Catchphrase has been commissioned for a 12th season by ITV from production company STV Studios.
