ITV renews Karen Pirie for second season

NEWS BRIEF: UK commercial broadcaster ITV has renewed crime drama series Karen Pirie, adapted by Emer Kenny from Val McDermid’s cold case novels, for a second season from Line of Duty producer World Productions.

Kenny (The Curse, Save Me) will return to write and executive produce the 3×120’ episodes along with Scottish writer Gillian Roger Park (Sneakerhead, The Young Offenders). Season two will be based on A Darker Domain, the second in the internationally bestselling Karen Pirie novels and once again star Lauren Lyle (Outlander, Vigil). Filming will commence early next year and ITV Studios handles international distribution.
