ITV lines up police drama Code Zero from Death in Paradise’s James Hall

UK broadcaster ITV has commissioned police drama Code Zero, written and created by Death in Paradise lead scribe James Hall as his first original television drama.

The 6×60’ series has been produced by Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning production company Two Brothers Pictures, in association with All3Media International.

ITV’s director of drama Polly Hill will oversee production for the broadcaster.

The cast is led by Faye Marsay (Adolesence) as police sergeant Laura Collier and follows events that unfold after a heist goes wrong. Ashley Way is set to direct the first three episodes, and Claire Winyard will helm episodes four to six.

Filming takes place in Cardiff and South Wales with support from the Welsh Government via Creative Wales.

Hall is executive producer and lead writer on long-running soft crime series Death in Paradise and creator of spin-off Return to Paradise. He said: “It’s been such a delight developing this show with the brilliant team at Two Brothers Pictures. With their expertise and experience making so many fantastic and gripping TV thrillers, I can’t think of a better company to be working with on it.”

Banijay Entertainment-owned All3Media International will handle international distribution.
