ITV, Acorn TV among latest buyers to discover The Last to Disappear

The Last to Disappear is based on the novel by Jo Spain

UK commercial broadcaster ITV and North American streamer Acorn TV have picked up crime drama The Last to Disappear from UK distributor DCD Rights ahead of Mipcom.

Starring Sam Keeley (Task, Kin) Oona Airola (Hildur, Helsinki Syndrome) and Thea Sofie Loch Næss (La Palma, So Long Marianne), the 6×60′ series is based on the bestselling novel by Jo Spain.

The plot follows an Irish lobbyist working in London who finds out his sister accidentally drowned while working at a luxury resort in Lapland. But he soon discovers her death was no accident and may be the latest in a string of murders of women.

The show is produced by Newgrange Pictures in coproduction with Yellow Film & TV for Nordic streamer Elisa Viihde.

At Mipcom, DCD Rights will also showcase Fortitude Valley (6×60′), starring British actor Rupert Everett (Rivals, Napoleon), Hunter Page-Lochard (Critical Incident, Harrow) and Kat Stewart (Black Snow, Offspring).

The Australian crime thriller follows straight-arrow detective Ethan Tobane, who finds himself caught in a dangerous web of lies and murder after human remains are discovered under a demolished city building.

The series is a Moving Floor Entertainment production for the Oz pubcaster the ABC, with production investment from Screen Australia and Screen Queensland.

DCD Rights is also launching An Impossible Way to Die, a Clapperboard Studios production for UK broadcaster 5. The six-part thriller stars Sharon Rooney (The Revenge Club, Barbie) and Emmett J Scanlan (MobLand, Kin).
