Indonesia’s ANTV bags crocodile drama Lolong from GMA Worldwide

GMA Public Affairs fantasy drama Lolong

Indonesian free-to-air network ANTV has acquired hit Filipino drama Lolong from GMA Network’s content distribution arm GMA Worldwide.

The show, about one man’s friendship with a giant crocodile, will begin airing in Indonesia this month.

It marks the first Filipino title to be acquired by ANTV, which said the GMA Public Affairs-produced series “perfectly fits” the Indonesian TV audience’s taste for the fantasy genre as their viewers enjoy shows featuring animal characters or mythical creatures.

Directed by Rommel Penesa and Conrado Peru, the series stemmed from an idea from broadcast journalist and GMA News pillar Jessica Soho and assistant VP for GMA Public Affairs LJ Castel.

Lolong’s cast includes Shaira Diaz, Arra San Agustin, Christopher de Leon, Jean Garcia, Bembol Roco, Malou de Guzman, Rochelle Pangilinan, Paul Salas, Marco Alcaraz, Mikoy Morales and Maui Taylor.
