India’s Digitoonz brings in Maria Bonaria Fois as it plans European expansion
Indian animation studio Digitoonz Media & Entertainment has added former Mondo TV Studios executive Maria Bonaria Fois to its ranks to lead the company’s expansion in Europe.
Bonaria Fois joins as president of Digitoonz’s new Madrid office, from where it will seek to branch out across the continent.
Founded in 2009, Digitoonz Media is an Indian animation studio with studios in New Delhi and Kolkata, as well as offices in Los Angeles.
In her new role as president of Digitoonz Media & Entertainment Spain, Fois will lead the company’s expansion in Europe, with a strong focus on developing proprietary IP, finding coproductions and acquiring content for distribution to create an extensive catalogue.
In addition, she will continue to strengthen the company’s offering of 2D, 3D, VFX and video game animation services.
Bonaria Fois has 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry, 25 of which she has dedicated to animation.
She has held leadership positions in companies such as BRB Internacional and Mondo TV Studios, where she was CEO until the company’s recent acquisition by Squirrel Media.

Digitoonz was advised on establishing the Madrid office by Invest in Madrid, the investment promotion agency of the Community of Madrid dedicated to attracting and supporting foreign direct investment in the region.
Bonaria Fois will work alongside Emanuela Marrocu as marketing and communication manager, Piergiacomo Pollonio, founder of S106 Consulting, as a financial consultant, and the firm Auren Legal, which will provide legal support.
