Hearst, Zig Zag pair for true crime series Rob Rinder: The Case I Can’t Forget

CONTENT EUROPE: UK unscripted indie Zig Zag (Killing Michael Jackson) has unveiled new docuseries Rob Rinder: The Case I Can’t Forget, to premiere on Hearst Networks’ true crime brand Crime + Investigation in the UK and EMEA.

The film, set to debut on June 8, sees TV personality Rinder return to his roots as a criminal defence barrister to revisit one of the most haunting cases of his legal career.

In August 2005, 22-year-old Liverpool mother-of-three Lucy Hargreaves was murdered and Rinder was part of the defence team during the subsequent high-profile murder trial.

The trial judge upheld a submission that there was insufficient evidence upon which a jury could properly convict and formally acquitted the defendants.

Twenty years on, Rinder revisits the case, meets with Hargreaves’ family and hears how they are still seeking justice for Lucy’s murder.
