Hearst Media extends Lucky Dog franchise with new iteration for CBS

Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG) is preparing an addition to the Lucky Dog franchise that has aired on CBS for more than a decade.

Lucky Dog: Down Under

The new series, Lucky Dog: Down Under, will launch on CBS on Saturday October 4, airing on weekend mornings as part of the CBS WKND educational/informational programming block.

It is based on the international format The Dog House Australia and follows Australian shelter dogs as they transition from rescue and rehabilitation to becoming members of loving families.

The show is hosted by animal trainer Brandon McMillan, who also fronts the original Lucky Dog series. McMillan has won two Daytime Emmys for outstanding host in a lifestyle/travel/children’s/family programme for his work on Lucky Dog.
