London-based Ampere Analysis was founded in 2015 to provide data and analytics to the entertainment and media information sector through subscription-based online services, market intelligence, audience insights and monetisation strategies. Its clients include major film and TV studios, technology companies, gaming groups, sports teams, leagues and governing bodies.

Goldenpeak is the first institutional investor in Ampere Analysis. The two companies said the investment will be used to fund growth initiatives for the business.

Alongside the Goldenpeak deal, Ampere has acquired PlumResearch, an independent data company that provides insights to the global entertainment industry.

PlumResearch, a specialist in global streaming audience analytics, was also founded in 2015 and is based in Warsaw, Poland. Its 20-strong team provides streaming audience measurement and analytics using large-scale audience panels across 75 markets.

Mark Williams, founder and managing partner at Goldenpeak, said: “This strategic investment sits firmly within Goldenpeak’s investment focus. Ampere Analysis is a founder-led business with a differentiated product, strong market reputation and sustained top-line performance. The management team is ambitious and innovative, and we look forward to partnering with them to support the next phase of development.”

Dan Stevenson, MD of Ampere Analysis, said: “This partnership marks a new chapter for Ampere Analysis. With Goldenpeak’s backing, we have an opportunity to accelerate our growth ambitions and strengthen our position as a leading data and analytics platform for the global media industry. We’ll be able to broaden our capabilities, innovate faster and deliver deeper insights and greater value for clients.”

Richard Broughton, executive director at Ampere, added: “Plum’s approach to streaming measurement is both innovative and highly practical, combining device-agnostic tracking, large panels and rich behavioural metrics to deliver practical value for media clients. Under Lukasz [Jeziorski, founder and CEO]’s leadership, Plum has not only built impressive technology and audience intelligence capabilities but has done so in a way that has already earned the trust of leading names across the global entertainment industry.”
