Fuse TV, TVO fans of Flame content

Off the Beaten Track with Kate Humble has been picked up by TVO

US pay channel Fuse TV, TVO in Canada and France’s RMC Découverte are among the international broadcasters to have picked up factual content from Australia’s Flame Distribution.

Fuse TV has acquired Unbreakable (7×44’), which follows a group of remarkable individuals with disabilities as they pursue their life goals, while Canadian group Bell Media’s Canal D took season one of lifestyle series Outback Opal Hunters (8×45’).

TVO has gone for A Stitch in Time (6x 30’), an historical series about fashion, and season two of Off the Beaten Track with Kate Humble (4×30’), which offers an intimate portrait of the lives of people living in the most remote and rural areas of Wales.

Seasons six and nine of Outback Truckers, meanwhile, which showcases some of Australia’s unsung heroes as they drive the biggest trucks on earth on the toughest roads and loneliest highways in the world, has been picked up by RMC Découverte.

JCG in South Korea and Nat Geo Channel in India have taken Food Safari Earth

In Asia, Chinese SVoD platform Tencent has licensed three-part docuseries Life in Colour with David Attenborough, which sees the natural history icon travel from the rainforests of Costa Rica to the snowy Scottish Highlands to reveal the extraordinary ways that animals use colour.

BS4 satellite channel in Japan and Viu TV in Hong Kong have acquired Work on the Wild Side (20x 60’/10×30’), which follows vets, veterinary nurses and volunteers who gave up their day jobs and moved to South Africa to help save some extraordinary animals.

Other titles taken by Viu TV include Cat Hospital, Under the Sea: The Great Barrier Reef, The Dinosaur Echo, Think Like An Animal, Volcanic New Zealand and Striking Balance.

Finally, JCG in South Korea and National Geographic Channel in India have taken culinary series Food Safari Earth, Food Safari Water and Food Safari Fire.

Fiona Gilroy, content sales and acquisitions director at Flame Distribution, said: “We have seen such a boom in the demand for content from a multitude of buyers across the board and these deals are just a few highlights. Our sales and acquisitions teams in the UK, US and Australia continue to work closely with some exceptionally talented producers and we are proud to represent their titles.”
