France’s KMBO Production invites The Wolf in Underpants to Cartoon Forum

France’s KMBO Production is adapting French author Wilfrid Lupano’s children’s book Le Loup en Slip (The Wolf in Underpants) into a three-part animated series for families.

The 3×26’ 2D and 3D animated adaptation is written by Lupano, Romain Gadiou and Chloé Sas­tre and directed by Benjamin Botella. Les Films de l’Arlequin is coproducing with KMBO.

The Wolf in Underpants centres on a village of animals who wrongly believe that the local wolf is intent on harming them, locking themselves indoors at night when the wolf emerges from his lair. Only the village owl knows the wolf isn’t as wicked as he seems.

Lupano has written a series of sequels to The Wolf in Underpants, which was first published in 2016. KMBO will pitch the adaptation to buyers at Cartoon Forum next week.
